The next General Members meeting will be Thursday September 2nd, 2010.

It is a breakfast meeting beginning at 7:30 a.m. to be held at Mario’s Cypress Café, 3001 Ormond Boulevard. Networking and a buffet breakfast will begin at 7:30 am with the meeting beginning at 8 am.

Our speaker will be Mr. Doug Rhodes from Entergy/Waterford III. He will be giving a presentation and answering questions regarding a project they will be starting in the Spring 2011.

Welcome to the SCBA

Welcome to the Saint Charles (Louisiana) Business Association. The SCBA is based in Saint Charles Parish (county) Louisiana and was created to promote business growth and development in our suburban New Orleans parish. We hope you enjoy your visit to our Web site.

 
The Objectives of the SCBA
To foster, protect, and promote the welfare and interest of all those engaged in business or trade in St. Charles Parish.

To protect and encourage such trade and commerce, by serving as a central agency to combine the intelligence and influence of members against imposition and fraud.

By securing uniformity and equity in business usage and laws by bringing about programs of an economic and educational value.

Establishing closer ties to business among members, for the ultimate benefit of the public.
 
Goals
  1. To provide information to the political community, business community, and the people of St. Charles Parish regarding the services and goods available in the Parish.
  2. To enlist the aid and cooperation of the Parish governmental agencies to use local vendors whenever possible.
  3. To foster a cooperative effort among our members to provide public information regarding the value to our Parish of shopping locally.
 
Benefits
The benefits of being a SCBA member are numerous and have increased over our history. Current activities include:
  • Publishing a Directory of Business and Industry in conjunction with the Parish
  • Conducting the St. Charles Parish Expo
  • Quality and other educational seminars
  • Making contacts with other business people including meeting with large industry to open channels to business.

We hope we have convinced you of the benefits of joining our organization. If you have questions please contact any of our members.

 
Origin
The association, a non-profit organization, was formed by a concerned group of St. Charles Parish business people in January 1985.
